The Dragon Project

Building Blood, NFI, and Labyrinth into a long-term interconnected project.

Weaving Blood, NFI and Labyrinth together through phenotype-selected Lipstick influence — a multi-generation program, not a single pairing.

The idea

This project explores several connected Blood and albino pathways while incorporating phenotype-selected Lipstick influence, NFI and Labyrinth.

The goal is not simply to produce named combinations. The first generation creates genetically useful animals that can be evaluated for phenotype and used to build more complex generations. Long-term, this project can interact with other Quantum Boas genetics including Leopard, Inca and other future genetic additions.

The animals behind the project

Animals marked “Possible Sire” cohabitate within a breeding group — paternity is reported as possible or unknown unless confirmed.

Why these animals?

The three females bring different opportunities.

Esdeath represents the NFI foundation — the immediate objective is to bring Blood into the NFI project. One particularly exciting potential direction is Labyrinth NFI carrying Blood.

Mai creates an opportunity to produce Red Dragon genetics while carrying forward Lipstick phenotype influence.

Maki adds Hypo to the Lipstick/Kahl/Blood architecture and creates the potential Sun Dragon direction.

Rengoku brings Blood, Kahl and Labyrinth — his involvement creates the possibility of adding Labyrinth into offspring from any of the three females.

Natsu provides another Blood sire route and still accomplishes the fundamental goal of moving Blood into these female lines.

Genetic architecture

Core components: Blood, Kahl Albino, Hypo, Labyrinth and NFI.

NFI is an allelic compound — Kahl / JPC. Kahl and JPC share the same locus, so they are not treated as independent recessive loci in this project.

Red Dragon architecture combines Blood with Kahl Albino; the Sun Dragon direction adds Hypo (Sunglow) to that base. Labyrinth is the pattern layer we hope to introduce across any of the three female lines.

Expected / possible outcomes

Possible directions include Labyrinth NFI animals carrying Blood, Red Dragon genetics with Lipstick phenotype influence, and Sun Dragon direction animals from the Maki line.

These are possibilities, not guarantees — and because the group is cohabiting with two males, sire assignments will only be stated when confirmed.

Breeding group established

Esdeath, Mai and Maki now cohabitate with Rengoku and Natsu as a breeding group. Because two males are present, paternity of any future litter will be reported as possible or unknown — never assumed.

Where this project goes next

The first generation creates genetically useful animals that will be evaluated for phenotype and used to build more complex generations. Long-term, this project can interact with other Quantum Boas genetics — including Leopard, Inca and other future additions — to keep advancing the project.

Long-term north star

Our long-term dream concept weaves Inca, Labyrinth, NFI, Leopard and Blood / Red Dragon architecture into a single multi-generation animal.

NFI is an allelic compound (Kahl / JPC) — the two albino strains share one locus, which shapes how the dream combination must be built.

The dream animal is not the only goal of Quantum Boas. It is an example of the philosophy: start with useful foundations, combine genetics, select on phenotype, introduce additional genetics, recombine branches — and continue improving.
