This project asks a long-term selection question: how far can Quantum Boas push the appearance of VPI Blood?
The objective is not merely to reproduce VPI Blood. We want to evaluate variation within the offspring and selectively retain animals demonstrating desirable characteristics.
The project will document the entire selection process — foundation parents, litter production, newborn evaluation, multiple holdbacks where appropriate, and progression at six months, one year and two years through to adult phenotype. Eventually: select the strongest foundation animals, introduce complementary genetics, and evaluate the next generation.
Kurama is the VPI Blood foundation sire — the genetic starting point the whole project is measured against.
Leonne completes the foundation pair, carrying Blood behind VPI so the first generation can produce VPI Blood offspring with meaningful variation to select from.
VPI Albino is its own distinct T-negative albino line — unrelated to, and incompatible with, the Kahl and JPC lines.
Blood is a selectively bred direction producing heavy melanin and rich, saturated red-brown coloration that intensifies with age.
VPI Blood combines the two; this project is about refining how that combination actually looks, generation after generation.
How much variation exists within VPI Blood offspring — and which individuals best express the characteristics we want to carry forward?
Possible outcomes include VPI Blood offspring across a range of expression, with multiple holdbacks retained where appropriate for progression tracking.
